Stephen Nedoroscik knows how to give the performance of a lifetime.
At the 2024 Emmys, the Team USA gymnast was caught doing the same pre-show ritual he used at the Paris Olympics to prepare for his presenting duties during the Sept. 15 awards ceremony.
In a photo shared to Instagram by actress Katie Asleton Sept. 16, Stephen—clad in a classic black suit and bowtie—was seen reclining in his chair with his eyes closed just before taking the stage to present the award for Outstanding Direction of a Drama Series alongside fellow Olympians Ilona Maher, Caleb Dressel and Ezra French. (Find out all the Emmys winners here.)
Alongside the image, the League alum added the caption, "Caught @stephen_nedoroscik right before he went onstage at the @televisionacad to present an emmy!"
And the hilarious snap called to mind another viral moment from the athlete. Back in August, Stephen was spotted adopting a similar eyes-closed routine while preparing to compete in his only event at the 2024 Games, the men's pommel horse competition.
Of course, the technique proved successful. After all, he wound up taking home the bronze medal in the individual competition. Plus, Stephen certainly won over more than a few hearts with the candid Emmys snap, with one user commenting under Katie's post, "Best shot of the night!"
And that's not the only time Stephen stole the show at television's big night, which was hosted by Dan Levy and Eugene Levy at Los Angeles' Peacock Theater. The 25-year-old also won gold on the red carpet by stepping out with girlfriend Tess Cracken, who stunned in a strapless black Jovani gown, strappy heels and a matching clutch.
For Stephen, her support has been crucial as he takes on new adventures in the world of Hollywood, like presenting at the Emmys and being cast in season 33 of Dancing With the Stars.
“She’s already out there in L.A. with me,” Stephen told E! News in September, following his DWTS cast announcement. “And we brought the kitty. We got the whole house set up, we’re comfy.”
